Music and shoes have more than a little shared history, they’re practically sole mates. The two industries have been inextricably laced together for decades, each channeling the mood of an era in their own respective ways. Consistently remaining icons of style, we look at how they’ve always been a step ahead of everyone else.

Red Timberlands

The Timberland boot is an enduring item of fashion wear. As such, it is a staple in any devoted fashionistas wardrobe. In order to stand out from the crowd, Pharrell Williams—pop-royalty and all-round entrepreneur—has made his mark by creating his own, exclusive red Timberlands.

Red shoes are always sure to make a statement. That much has been true since David Bowie sang the immortal words: ‘put on your red shoes and dance the blues.’ Perhaps Pharrell had these lyrics in mind when he decided to commission his own pair of red Timberlands. Distinctive and unique, Williams’ custom-designed footwear has become a sought-after commodity.

Pharrell first unveiled the Bee Line x Timberland Red Boots in the summer of 2014 through his Instagram, and he wore them on the red carpet at the Billionaire Boys Club 10th Anniversary party in Las Vegas. The limited edition 6-inch premium boots stay true to the original but feature crimson red leather and anodized hardware throughout. The iconic Timberland logo is embossed on the tongue and heel. Pharrell chose the red colour to emphasise the silhouette of the Timberland boot in a non-conventional construction tone.
